Most musicians and supporting crew generally enjoy the excitement of going out on tour or even getting geared up for a single gig. Remember though, as the setup and tear down of gigs becomes more repetitive it can be easy to forget simple precautions that can protect your gear, and more importantly, you, your band and your crew.
Here's a great article from Andy Reynold's Live Music Business with some fantastic tips on how to keep you and your gear safe. We couldn't help but notice one omission (although we're pretty sure it goes without saying): keep your hands protected! A hand injury at the venue will almost surely put you out of commission for that gig and possibly other scheduled gigs. Get a pair of Gig Gloves and you'll feel better knowing that the show will go on!
Stay safe out there and have fun.
